{Jennifer & Mark} - Engaged

M ark and Jen’s love story began 7 years ago. They met through work when she first moved to the Isle of Ma. They were dating for a short while before she decided to move to the Greek Island, Skiathos. She had been there for 3 months when Mark phoned to tell her that he was coming over on holiday to see her. When Mark got to Skiathos they both realised how much they missed and loved each other and have been together ever since, because of love she came back to the Isle of Man a few months later.

It was Christmas 2010 when they got engaged. They were having a long weekend in London catching up with friends and thought it would be nice to have a night to themselves and go for dinner. They had a table booked at Restaurant Ramsey and Mark suggested going for a few drinks before in Covent Garden. So they went to go for a few drinks and stopped on route to look at The Academy of Flowers huge Christmas tree, next minute Mark had got down on one knee and said “I’ve been meaning to do this for a while” opened a box with the ring inside and said “Will you marry me?” Jen told me she screamed and screamed and screamed like an absolute lunatic before Mark finally said “Is that a yes?!?!?” To which she said yes and screamed some more! She said the owner of The Academy of Flowers must have heard Jen screaming and came running out to congratulate them and invited them in for mulled wine, mince pies and made them the most beautiful bouquet of roses.

After all that excitement they left to go to Restaurant Ramsey, after a mission of getting there as the London riots were going on at the time but when they finally got there and had the most amazing meal ever.

She always smiles like a Cheshire cat every time she thinks back on that amazing night …
